Anastasia Andersen

From the poem, “Autumn Grammar Lesson”:

“…The day drags its red
into the river. Something has already
taken a hatchet to summer
doing her in, leaving her—
two syllables twitching….”

Anastasia Andersen is currently a student in the University of New Mexico MFA Creative Writing program and also teaches poetry workshops through UNM Continuing Education. Previous and upcoming publications include Blue Mesa Review, Puerto del Sol, Adobe Walls Anthology and Moon Milk Review. Her poem, “My daughter thinks safety means spotless,” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Anastasia is also a visual artist with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She also holds an MA in Art Education from UNM.
