Monday East of Edith Features Ayurveda-HipHop

https://i2.wp.com/upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/93/Dhanvantari-at-Ayurveda-expo.jpg/319px-Dhanvantari-at-Ayurveda-expo.jpg This image is of Dhanvantari, the Hindu god of Ayurveda here worshipped at an Ayurveda expo, in Bangalore. (taken from wikipedia) Why did I choose this image? Because…this Monday April 16th will offer yet another compelling feature, Jimmy Lusero, who was recommended by Hakim Bellamy. For the last decade, Lusero has been translating Ayurvedic medicine into HipHop cultural expressions, which he calls Dripdrop. His life practice is based on aesthetic delight from food, light & sound. He educates as a life coach/emcee in service to everyone from medical doctors, addicts in recovery, to foster kids. Recently he has joined forces with a local producer and started a group called LC Crucial. Check out a few of these collaborations @ lccrucial.bandcamp.com/album/remixed-mind.

Monday Lusero hopes to offer some seasonal melodies and Medley’s of his work. Including , EL Grito De Dripdrop, Heart Medley and Aushadhi ( sanskrit for medicinal plant).

It is extra fitting that poet Teresa Gallion will be the host as much of her work and her new book has a strong spiritual bent.
