Photos from the Millenium Mic at the Projects, Hosted by Lisa Gill

What a fantastic time was had by everyone who came to the Open Mic Night at the Projects over on High Street this past Monday night, April 11th! The pictures below are from that night, the inaugural of what is hoped to become a long-running and strong poetry open mic here in Albuquerque. Lisa Gill hosted the event, and we had close to a dozen participants in the open mic, including visiting Los Angeles poets Brendan Constantine and Peggy Dobreer, as well as Ala Benson, an Albuquerque eighth-grader who also happens to be Alibi Magazine’s first -place winner in their recently-held villanelle contest. Please have a look and enjoy the photos.
