Small Talk Sundays: Stanza, Line, Word, Syllable…

As you may (or may not) know, Local Poets Guild offers a twice-monthly poetics discussion group at the community room of Silver Gardens (across from train station, near Central bus route). Geeky book club–sans homework. We read out loud on site, usually covering 3 essays per session. We meet 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from noon to two. You’re welcome to join us. RSVPs useful so I can give you directions, and my phone number etc, so you can get in. Plus I try to send pdfs of what we’ll be reading (so you can print and have on hand.)

We just wrapped up Triggering Town (which is good, as I accidentally dumped it down my trash chute–saw it hit the forever-gone-flap and disappear). And we’ve been exploring Gluck and now are gonna launch some new collections.

Sunday May 27th we’ll get up to our usual.

June 10th, we will do one essay as a group and discuss and then have guest Susan Sherman share  some of her poems and thoughts on writing, craft and aesthetic. (You can also catch her the day before at Alamosa for a regular reading.) Extra bonus: Sor Juana content!!!

RSVP to lisa gill. at localpoetsguild at yahoo dot com or to Lisa directly at nearartexperience also at yahoo
